Venturing Out

Is feeling stuck a normal emotion for you? One foot is taking a step out the door, toward your next goal, but the other foot is simply stuck where it is at? Yeah, me too.

We made it back to Indiana, and it was a pretty uneventful evening, which we all were okay with. I created my to-do list for tomorrow and found it incredibly dissatisfying. My usual to-do lists seem so critical, but after our life changes were made, it seems so pointless. Switching gears from working full time, and managing school drop off and pick up, to staying home full time and home schooling, almost erases time. You have to start creating activities to move your days along, otherwise you get caught up in idle bullshit like phone games or TV. Enjoyable in moderation, unhealthy obsessions when it is your daily to-do.

Tomorrow, we shall venture out! I am hoping to take the boys to the post office to learn how to mail a birthday card. This should occupy a good 30 minutes of our day, which might be good for all 3 of us. Maybe we will go find a park to play at too if the weather is in our favor.

Anyway, my point is that we have to push ourselves to avoid being stuck. You can do small things like go for a walk and get to know your neighborhood. Go to the park. Mail a card. Anything can become a healthy routine to move time again, but it is up to you. Your daily to-do lists, and how accomplished they make you feel, are completely up to you. Get up and go!
