Your Belly Will Always Tell You

First thing, I want to mention that if a pair of nurse's orthopedic shoes are as good as they are made out to be, then sign me up to get a pair for baking! A good stool and a pair of clouds to wear.

Second, I want to share that I had NO idea what the hell I was going to write tonight, but my spirit kept telling me to grab this computer. About 10 minutes ago, I finally got settled on my couch with my classic sitcom on, "Family Ties" is the lucky winner tonight, and my youngest son started calling out "Mommy!". Duty calls...Literally...I enter his room and he says "I pooped.". My first thought was here we go again as we have been having some issues with stubborn poos, and stubborn little men who try to hold it in for days on end.

     "You pooped?" I asked him.

     "Yes." He said.

"Is it a big one?" I ask him while reaching to help him down from his perch upon the top bunk.

"Yes." He replied. He walked past me toward the bathroom across the hall. I took a peak down and saw the giant bulge hanging from the tail end of his pants.

"Thank God!" I thought to myself following behind. At this point, I completely forgot I was in the middle of writing a blog entry, and I proceeded to clean the load at hand.

After a short chat about his belly feeling better, I get him back up to his nest of stuffed buddies and mountains of blankets that 4 year old kids so passionately collect. I step up on the lower bunk careful not to step on my oldest son's nose, I tuck my tiny pooper in, and wish him a good night. On my way back to the couch, I remembered I was writing a blog entry, and there it hit me. I know what I need to write about.

Tonight, I want to share the importance of listening to our bodies. You see, Noah, the poo master, does not like to listen to his body. He's a very stubborn guy, and as great as this strength can be in his lifetime, application plays a big part here. This made me think that, in reality, none of us are truly good at listening to our bodies. Whether this be our bellies after too much ice cream, or the hair on the back of our neck in an unsure situation.

Our bodies are an amazing machine that we have only touched the surface of

understanding. It can speak to us loud and clear if we let it. Think about your diet. What is your body telling you about what you put inside. Listen to the changes it is asking for. Think about personal interactions and how your body might speak to us about them. Does our hair stand on the back of our neck? Does our stomach tighten in knots? You must listen to those instincts, and ask yourself why it is speaking so loudly. Your intuition is also a very powerful tool. You must trust your gut and humbly ask it what is asking you to do.
